Hi all, My tank is suffering pretty badly from staghorn algae.
I've got a 60 litre tank with internal filter (rated at 350lph) and lighting is; 1 x Aquastar 24W T5 & 1 x Grolux 24W T5 with a deflector.
I do 50 percent water changes every week.
I dose EI ferts as per the directions from the supplier.
I've had the algae for a weeks now and have attempted a few changes to get on top of it.
I suspect that the lighting is too strong but short of changing from the tubes to an led light the only variation for light is duration.
I'm going slowly with the co2 as I'm controlling on/off with a solenoid and I'm seeing surges when the co2 is activated (waiting for another needle valve to place near the diffuser to reduce surge impact).
Hoping some of you may have some sound advice. Any thoughts?
Thanks

- Added 4 amano and 4 cherry shrimp that have shown no interest in the staghorn
- Adjusted lighting to be on from 17.30 to 21.30 (4 hours)
- Last week added diy co2 (bicarb soda/citric acid) which is running at 1 bubble every second from 15.30 to 17.30 (2 hours)
