Hi,

I want to add some height to the tank, maybe upto 30cm in the back corners.

I’ve sketched it out roughly what I have it mind, but it looks far too man made. I never was an artist! Anyway, any suggestions how to construct it without it sliding down, also what to fill the area inside with? Did think gravel in egg crate, topped with soil, then topped with sand maybe. But, that is some weight.

You can use Polystyrene to give you the general over all fill in shapes.

Thanks Keith. Any buoyancy issues with that? I’ve seen styrafoam being suggested by some, then then others saying if it comes lose it will shoot to the surface taking the whole tank out with it?

By your sketch you have rocks they can be used.

The bottom piece can be larger to hold the rocks, in fact each layer can be made the same way. Only point is make a shape not a 1/4 circle try to make it natural looking.

It can be made outside of the tank then put in position when finished

Remember each layer is Siliconed (using aquarium safe silicone)
