Yes, I do sympathize with your failure. Millions of hobbyists also fail to take note of the fact that, as Darrel explains, the chemistry of the kits are directly affected by the presence of other ions in the water, particularly Chloride and the host of other ions in aquarium water that are not present, or are present in orders of magnitude less in those millions of laboratory test samples.
