You can place the bulb in a cold spot (refridgerator) for a week or 2. I learned this trick from a friend and it really works. After placing it back, it will start growing again.
Good question! I just placed the bulb inside without water or anything. It worked... Before it didn't do anything, placing it back in the water it started growing again.
Not in water, no - but keep it moist, when in fridge (fx. wet paper). The idea is to simulate natural cycle; ponds drying out, temp. dropping and bulbs staying dormant in the mud, until flooded again.
