Too strong?

Hi folks i'm due to get my new tank shortly which is this

Open Top Cabinet Fish Tank Aquarium - 77 Litres - 60cm 2ft - Three Colours - All Pond Solutions

It comes with a 1000 lph filter, I have the APS 2000 lph filter and im wondering if this would be too strong for the tank? The substrate would be sand and I would be using lily pipes. Would this create a dust storm?

Any help would be great

I would give it a try. You can raise the lily pipe return slightly to adjust the 'velocity' of flow, and you may be able to throttle the filter back a little anyway. Its unlikely that you will actually get anywhere near 2000lph out of the filter in any case as that figure is based on zero head and zero flow restriction. Stuff it with a fair amount of compact media and filter wool and you will probably even half that if not more.
