2 months after cleaning, I decided to accurately test the flow rate on my EHIEM PRO 3 350.
Its under a 90Ltr tank with a quality german made CO2 reactor on the outflow pipe. It also only has sponges in it - 3 grades from memory which wont be that dirty as I usually clean the external around every 5 months or so.
I was thinking its quite a large filter for the size of the tank - the actual flow rate worked out at about 210 ltrs/hour (I timed the lily pipe filling a 1ltr container in about 17 seconds - hope my maths is correct) which aint great. Good job I have a decent sized circulation pump in the tank.
I guess the old adage of always go large is true
