Anyone changed their UV lamp on a older version of the vecton UV?

Mine needs changing and was wondering if it could still be left in-line while i changed it

    Cheers

I was going to say "no" but after re-thinking for a minute, yes you can leave it connected. I would stop the filter running while you do it, but you can pull the end caps off and remove the tube. The seals are against the quartz. Thats not to say it might be safer to disconnect it ;)

I would certainly unplug it though.

OK thanks for that, helps allot as i don't really want to take the UV out of the loop as it can be a bit of a pain!

Hehe, tell me about it :bored:

I have an old Vecton I bought on eBay. Sadly, the stupid thing leaks so I had to shell out on a V2. I won't be using it on the new setup though as it really reduces the flow of my EX700 filter.
