Wandering Shrimp

Hi All,
After the gradual disappearance of my amanos I finally found one on the floor. Im assuming they are climbing my 3d back ground and out the gap in the lid. Before I go and trim the background down will they climb the filter pipes aswell? and how far from the top should I trim it. Are cherries any less prone to wandering off?

Interesting. Never experienced lemming like behaviour in shrimp. Have u checked ur water params? I have read of shrimp that are unhappy with water conditions jumping out of the tank in the hop of finding better water....are you injecting co2?

Lol I have had this happen to me before. I found one of my Amanos at the front door which was down a set of stairs. I think it must have been about the equivalent of about a mile in shrimp size. My giant African filter shrimp is prone to climbing the pipes and wires in the tank and have also found him wandering about the floor.
I would suggest putting a flat cover around the pipes. Like a bit glass or plastic.

Had a couple of amanos wander out of tanks even one with a hood never had a cherry shrimp escape though mate even with wood coming out of the top of the tank
