Would be the best choice for chopping up to "seed" into volcanic rock. I'm guessing plain java moss would be good but what do folks think?

Fissidens is the stand alone most beautiful delicate little moss i have ever had, tried 3 times and failed twice. Somehow it is doing ace in my current high tech. I have 3 more rocks in a propigator with fissidens 'painted' on... its been a slow process for me though.
If its for you nano mate then be aware that java in my nano requires a lot of maintenance as its quick growing, havent tried fissidens low tech.... another job for tomorrow

Fissidens low tech is painfully slow. Bought some pads from hong king nearly a year ago & now the look great but I went properly hi tech about 4 months ago.

Agreed that they are very attractive. Mini pellila is also rather lovely
