Hi all, I think it is definitely a root, possibly Teak (Tectona grandis) or a Dipterocarp.
If the light coloured wood hasn't been glued on (it probably has) its the remains of a Strangler fig or similar that was growing as an epiphyte.

Dipterocarps are the trees that (used to) <"cover Borneo">.Never heard of any of them except Teak!
