Lovely pond, very jealous!
I was not aware Macropodus opercularis can overwinter outside here. Do you have experience of this Gill? I have M. ocellatus which overwinters and breeds outside without any problems but they come from colder regions than opercularis.Have a look at Paradise Fish and Heterandria Formosa and Rice Fish.
They stay smallish and look great and can overwinter,

Really nice, just keeps getting betterTime for a update the first photo was taken on 13th June 2020.
The water level had dropped a lot it it was even lower about a week before, I had to top it up with tap water that I had left in the water trough for 2 weeks before using it.
I let the grass grow long around the edge of the pond to see how it looked but in the end it just got to long so I cut it back.

This photo I took this morning 5-6 weeks later then the above photo.
I have no issues with the pond the water has got clearer and have not had any blanket weed problems.
Had lots of baby frogs around the pond and lawn.

Maybe you'll have to move to the burbsLovely pond, wish I had a garden now!! 👏
You need one of these...Beautiful! My family would have shot me if I was to build a pond in the garden vs a swimming pool.
That is so true, now that we all work from home I guess we can live anywhereMaybe you'll have to move to the burbs
There were a lot of people looking at the windows of our <"local estate agents"> the other day, while not knowing exactly where they came from <"London would be my guess"> for a lot of them.now that we all work from home I guess we can live anywhere
Is there a place with constant sunny weather and a lovely sandy beach?Hi all, There were a lot of people looking at the windows of our <"local estate agents"> the other day, while not knowing exactly where they came from <"London would be my guess"> for a lot of them.
Strangely enough Corsham has been referred to as <"Cornwall in the Cotswolds">, but both "constantly sunny" and "a lovely sandy beach" might be pushing it a bit.constant sunny weather and a lovely sandy beach?
