Hi Does anyone know how to open the housing on the UP Atomizer?

I've just had this in my tank, loads of, all over my java moss as well. Harmless, fish and shrimp didnt touch it, took 6 weeks for it to go.

It's not the nuts, it's where the bit the nut is attached to meets the housing. I can't see a crack. It's a very small leak. I was thinking to use silicone sealant to seal it up.

I'll ring up co2art tomorrow for a replacement. But something must be causing this. I have the single gauge regulator rated at 3.5 bar, could too much pressure cause it to crack over time?

Hi I have had two inline up co2 diffusers from co2art and both have developed a leak. Not straight away, but over a period of weeks. Any idea what could cause this? And how do I fix it?

Purigen is good stuff, cleans the water nicely. I chucked my filter wool out to increase flow, you don't need it. Also, carbon does has its place and is useful. I use seachems carbon.

Hi all, I have this growing on my java moss.... No matter how much I clean it off it grows back. Its on my wood and java moss. I think its fungus, I've had it for weeks, its relentless. How do I get rid off it? It doesnt grow anywhere else in the tank, only here.

Yes, to increase the flow, which seems to have helped. I have a lot more flow in the tank, I got rid off the extra carbon and filter wool.

I think it is, I'll find out when I replace the broken atomizer.

Normally 6 hours, 2 x 45w T5, currently the lights are being kept off.

Edit: the inline atomizer housing is leaking. Looks like it's cracked. Does over tightening cause this?

Just put the filter on some tissue paper and it's getting wet. Definitely leaking by the rubber feet. Got to wait till Monday or Tuesday for a replacement. I'll be doing daily water changes until then.

Hi I really need some help. I hav3 removed my internal filter in my Rio 180 to be replaced by a fluval 406. In have set it up, but there is a leak by the rubber foot. Now I have no filtration, what do I do? I bought the filter of eBay so will take time to get it replaced.

Yes it will be, currently I have the Juwel internal filter @ 1000lph (so they say) and a Hydor powerhead at 1600lph. The Fluval will give me 1450 lph.

Update: Still running on one tube for 5 hours, not a spec of algae :-) I am now in the possession of a Fluval 406, Hydor ETH and inline atomiser, plan to install these over the weekend.

Not so much directly down, but more towards the bottom half of the front glass.

Thanks for the reply. I was planning on having them point in the same direction, so the powerhead is supplementing the outputs flow. I was going to use the output for surface agitation and have the powerhead pointing towards the substrate.

I'm not to keen on the aquamanta, my sister has one and I didn't really like it. I'll probably get a fluval 406 since the eheim pro 3 won't fit in the cabinet. I'll get an inline co2 diffuse and and external hydor heater as well.

This is why I love this forum. Fantastic advice. As soon as I get home I will remove one reflector and turn the other upside down, run on one light and see how things go. Is it best to leave CO2 at the current rate? Or can I reduce it due to less lighting?

Removing reflectors are not a problem, unfortunately its not possible to run a single light on a Juwel hood.

Hi all Does anyone use the co2art drop checker fluid? Having trouble telling the colour. In the tank the colour looks deep green (as per bottle instructions). Take it out the tank it's blue. I've had co2 running for 4 hours and colour hasn't budged.

Hi All Was just looking for some advice placement of a power head. I have a Rio 180 with the internal filter. The outlet is pointed up for surface movement. Is it best to place the power head in the same direction as the filter outlet?

From what I can see, it has small grains towards the bottom and bigger towards the top. I used the Tropica 1-2 grow pots, so the plant was small to start with. I think they are planted about an inch in. Any more and I wouldnt be able to see it.

My setup is very new, it was just a concern really, last thing I want is a plant dying on me. I happy to add co2 to the setup, I've done days of reading and I'm happy with daily ferts, 50% water changes and maintenance of the tank.
