Is this a biotope inspired aquarium?

Mine broke and I never received any response to my emails regarding spare parts so I would not recommend them either based on the design from 2020 (when I bought it?). I agree that when it worked properly, you couldn’t hear it which was the main selling point for me.

With a biotope, I’d rather go physically see it if possible. You can’t create an exact copy of a biotope in a small tank. Having my own tank allows me to add my own artistic touch which is what I find interesting and fun.

I prefer Marsilea to Elecharis as it grows a lot slower therefore less maintenance in my opinion. But Eleocharis is one of the few carpeting plants that root quick enough and survive with a full grown Bristlenose pleco.

I think having co2 makes things a little easier in terms of plant growth (but also for more things to go wrong). The plant growth so far hasn't been that fast maybe due to the 50% light intensity which is around 60 par at the mid point from the fixture.

You can reduce the flow to a minimum of 50% according to the manual. I have mine on line 5 within an aquascaper 600 and the flow seems fine. I did stuff the two middle baskets with ceramic rings from my filter that was leaking (it was an emergency swap) which probably slowed the flow down.
