I got 5 more amanos. Some of the corys started showing a bit of whitespot so I dosed the meds again. Two shrimp are now on their backs and kick like mad. The rest seem fine. They didn't do that the first time I put the treatment in. I guess that it must have copper or something in it!

I had 6. one died right away, 2 jumped, one got done by the silver tips and after that the two that left didnt take long to check out. I dunno, i didnt really see them gasp at the surface but then again when my rummys start feeling the co2 they hug the substrate and gasp.

I would advise a up atomizer on the return pipe. Neat and effiecent. I've had no issues with mine. Some people don't like the fine mist of bubbles that is produced but I don't mind.

I asked this question in my journal as I've been doing 50% changes since my journals inception. I was worried that I would get the required growth from plants asbi was diluting the EI dosed ferts but got the same answer from ceg as you did. Water changes: never a bad thing!

Ceg more or less has it all down. I wouldn't bother. Spend a little bit of time making sure reflections aren't an issue means a PF is redundant. A decent one will cost a few quid, about 90+ for a 77mm that could go on better things. I've always been taught reflections travel at right angles so...

I know a few folk who have went down the iPod dock route. I'd reccommend Cambridge audio. Good quality and relatively cheap. I'm sure the base model doesn't come with a remote mind you.

Go to the richer sounds website, they do some good package deals. Basically you need an amplifier, cd player and can benefit from an equaliser, seperates are the way to go!

Thanks ceg! Chilled, it is inside, the way the tubing bends and the wall to the right of the tank makes if easier to put it inside, if I ever take 'proper' photos then I'll take it out. I think I want a shorter tank as this on is a bit too tall for my liking!

Seem to be having a few algae issues, really only amongst the blxya, it may gave been in the plants when I put them in. I'm sure it's down to flow and too much light. As it's a really deep tank I think I'll need another powerhead. I was beginning to add a third 39watt t5 for a few hours but...

Should I just up my dry fert amounts by 25% for the next batch then? CO2 flow seems okay throughout the tank, its kinda high I think anyway and as the stocking is low I feel I can get away with a higher level. Air pump at night probably helps.

mine have also been curling their tails alot recently too. Things seem to have leveled out now, removed the slivertips and the vivipara that melted and no more dead shrimp!

I got a White frosted background from a website called purlfrost, it actually looks blue with the lights on! Almost te exact blue of that Oliver knott tank. A breeze to put on as well. I'm not a big fan of the blue so I'm switching it out soon.

I trimmed it down to about an inch before planting, didnt help it. It smelled 'off' when it arrived anyway. like I said before the rest of the plants were top drawer.

My while batch of vivipara has total melted! It's rotting right in the tank. The other plants and moss are doing well but the vivipara has just went to mush. I dunno if it was the heat during delivery or what. There's been a wee ammonia spike which I think might be a result of this and two...

I did a similer job on my well scuffed oskaka 260l. Bottom line was it was too large an area to buff away completly but I did manage to smooth it enough so that it isn't as noticable and I cam live with it for the time being. I pit a post up somewhere about it with pictures.

Ideal, I placed annotder for some hairgrass, vivipara and ..... Other stuff I don't remember. It was last week and was expecting it by now. Must be sourcing it from suppliers which is good but I thought I'd have it by now.

I live in north Ayrshire so I would expect the water to be relatively decent, soft etc. I tried to look up the water boards website but it didn't seem to be mac compatable! I've been using interpet pond stuff, 15 for 100liters or so. I don't want to set my filter back any as it's just starting...

I have this lens and it's one of my favourite. You can buy close up filters from eBay and the like that allow you to take close up photos, it's basically a glass element that screws onto the front. While not true macro it does allow much shorter focusing distances and can get really good shots.

I like a challenge but don't have the knowledge for it yet! That Hagen unit looks ideal. My hanging lights are this unit I think, stock oskaka lights. I might go down this route. I take it you use these George?

Geroge it's a glass brace so clear, my carpeting plants are mainly hairgrass, riccia and some ug just to see if it will take. I think my current 2x39 watt t5s just won't cut it. Would 2x150watt MH be better? Wouldn't need to be hung as high? Would that be too much light?
