    30L Nano 2nd Tank

That's the one. Dennerle cube 30l with the external dennerle filter. They are really nice and a lot of fun. You can create small 'high' scapes with moss and smaller plants. Too small for fish imo but great for shrimp. And there is a scapers model of the cube thats 60x60 cm.

Dennerle Nano Cube 30 Litre Complete Plus Aquarium?

I have the Dennerle Nano 30L. It's a nice looking tank. I do have the external filter and am not familiar with the "standard" filter. What I've seen in product reviews it should suffice for a shrimp setup. The advantage of the dennerle kit is that there's loads of add-ons. For instance there is...

    First tank rebooted

I didn't fert. I tried to but that only resulted in algae bloom. The soil I used had added ferts. The packaging states that it doesn't need any added fert for the first 3 months. (I mailed the company that makes the soil because I wanted to know if anything was added. They replied: "yes". Being...

    30L Nano 2nd Tank

Pic update. Did not have time the last 3 weeks to do anything. Just finished WC and trimmed the china moss that covers the top right branch a little. This tank started mid november, sooo almost 4 months now. And some different angles.

    30L Nano 2nd Tank

middle left is mini pellia. moved it from a darker spot where it did not grow a nanometer to a lighter place. it is growing now. really gives the stone that look like it's laying on the forest floor. top right is willow moss (Fontinalis antipyretica), growing really well also. bottom left is...

    30L Nano 2nd Tank

here's a pic of the china moss. terrible colours but it does show the shape and the "branches" I mentioned. they are growing in so I'm hoping they'll form pretty triangles

    30L Nano 2nd Tank

top right is china moss. doesn't have the typical triangle shape. not yet anyways, looks like the side "branches" take a little time groing in after cutting.

    30L Nano 2nd Tank

Thanks for the kind words Paulo. Much appreciated. Good point about the light. It is pretty bright. But there is a lot of difference in the growth-rate between the moss in the top of the tank and the one's at the bottom, and moss' at the bottom that are in a bit of shade can barely hang on...

    30L Nano 2nd Tank

Ok, so this is my 2nd journal on UKAPS. Just posted the last pic of my previous tank over here. This nano was inspired by some of the newer amano\ADA tanks that are rich in epiphytic plants (good ada journal issue here) and by the 30L nano by Paulo (clickit). There's mainly gravel for soil...

    First tank rebooted

Ok. So final update on this tank. Had to break it up last november. We are moving house, twice, and are now in a small temp appartment. I'have a 30L nano that I hope to start a journal for soon. This is the final pic. It's stuffed with plants because the bolbitis, java's and anubias I...

    First tank rebooted

Not sure whatsup with the image links. But here's an updated pic for the journal. *just re-pasted al the imagelinks* It's not been trimmed for a while. Partly due to not having enough time and in part because I know I will be breaking the tank down in a couple of weeks. I'll keep the...

    First tank rebooted

post-vacation updates. The flame-moss really grew big in the 2 weeks that I was away. Had some bad luck with the CO2 diffuser that came loose, but judging from the size of the riccia I'm sure that that happened in the last days of the holiday. On the right hand side in the lower corner I've...

    First tank rebooted

Quick update. Riccia is nice and thick and I've trimmed it. Also trimmed the dead leaves off the vallisneria. Trimmed the Hygrophila and replanted the cuttings. I've removed the Utricularia Graminifolia. It didn't really do anything and brown algae was all over it. Don't want to risk leaving...

    First tank rebooted

Hi G's, This won't be the most complete or regularly updated journal out there but I'd still like to share my experience. Posted a pic of my first plated tank a while ago in the new members section about a month and a half ago. New and Newby | UK Aquatic Plant Society I knew then that the...

    Substrate and CO2 lower PH

@darrel and profile. thanks for your reactions. pretty scientific stuff, hope there won't be a test cause I don't think I'll be able to reproduce it... :-) The message is clear though, so thanks a lot for that. @Darrel. Read the link to James' article. I think I've read it somewhere before...

    New and Newby

Hi All, Started my first planted tank a week ago. Did a lot of reading and found some nice info on this forum! Started with 125L tank. 2x T5 28watt lights. CO2 install with solenoid and timer. substrate is kittylitter and some sort of sand I found in a pet store. NB. already posted a...

    Substrate and CO2 lower PH

Hi All, Having some trouble with choosing the right substrate. Using kittylitter now in my first tank (here in the netherlands the "foetsie bah" brand is similar to the tesco stuff), but it's just too course to hold any plants. For my non-existing experience and skills anyway. I've read...
