My e701 connector can be a little difficult to needs slight rocking to get it to come off, there is maybe less suction resistance being a smaller model though, it maybe just me but opening and closing the lock lever a few times appears to help. By contrast my eheim 2213 will refuse to come...

One 9 hours light period, or 3 X 3 housr lighting period per day?

Since I added a couple of car rollers blinds to stop sunlight hitting the tank there has been a huge decrease in algae on the glass at least. I wonder if it also helps get the co2 and tank lights set correctly. Easy to fit too and the longer rear window ones work well depending on tank size.

    Glass lid and light

30% reduction seems a lot, I might be coming at this the wrong way but will a layer of condensation under a cover be about the same as topping up the water level by that much. The light still needs to travel through just water. Or am I missing something relating to light diffusion?

Water flow in the planted aquarium?

Could you use an Eheim single tap or double if better, set the filter for max flow then turn it down by closing the tap a bit? If its mechanical/lever flow adjustment as mine is then it must be a loose lever so you could tape it up or fashion a insert to stop it moving.

Catching the fish will be the most fun. In my experience a few weeks ago I removed all of the hardscape and plants, allowed the dust to settle then used 2 small nets to catch the neons and harlequins, you can corner the fish and encourage them to swim into 1 of the nets. I had to lower the...

Hi Lots of great advice here if you want to use CO2 to grow aquatic plants, if you want to make pizza dough then maybe this site would be of more interest http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/ Yes CO2 can be very harmful if you have enough of it in a confined space.

    CO2 diffusion for a yeast-based system

    Tank Refurb... Asian

I used to have 6 emerald eye rasboras that under the right light look very nice, but may seem a little plain otherwise, down to only 2 now though. They may be too big for a large school in 80L, they do seem to like the higher margins of the tank though so are good for a layering effect.

    Tank Refurb... Asian

£25.00 for 10 is good, I paid the same for 6 from MA several weeks ago and they had some today, a slightly paler variety at the same price. They are quite lively little fish and the only time I get to see most of them together is at feeding time, my experience is they tend not to shoal.
