So, i've relented on my 'i can get away with a small internal filter' thoughts... my water was perpetually full of bits... which i didn't like.
Anyway, The tank now has a tetratec 1200 and a 900lph hydor koralia nano pump....
What's the best arrangement of my outputs...? The koralia is...

this is a custom / modular filter input and output... useful for directing high turnovers I guess.

There's a couple of other points though...
What of asthetics? Crystal clear water in a display tank is attractive - larger / more filters aide in this. Also, taking more particulate matter out of suspension surely helps light penetration in the tank, too.
does it HAVE to be sintered glass?
I've always used alfagrog.... can get a sackful for a pond filter for peanuts... it's porous and ceramic... and it does the job!
Are these generally well-regarded?
Would the '200' model be enough for a 24olitre tank, given that the tank is being passed through it about 3.5 times per hour?
Also... do both models use 12mm hose?
