    Equivalent TMC Microhabitat LED output?

Hello  Was possibly thinking of trying to get hold of one of the TMC LED lights off one of their new Microhabitats to get even lower light then I currently am for my 17 litre nano. If you are unfamiliar its one of these. My current 9watt compact fluorescent unit is causing issues...

can i use a table lamp for a nano

I used to use an IKEA clamp on desk lamp, it used a PL 11watt 2 pin Compact Fluorescent the same as the specialist nano lights on the market. The colour temp from the supplied bulb was rank though so I changed it.

    9watt CF in 11watt ballast = Bang?

That would be spot on, nice sketchup. It doesn't look as expensive as I thought either. I wonder if I could get away with no glueing it if I got the fit tight?

    9watt CF in 11watt ballast = Bang?

Good idea mate. Its a shame though that by the time I've either bought frosting spray or tinted acrylic + silicone + postage it would be nearly the cost of a new unit and I can't be sure if it would work and it would need me to butcher my old light with glue. I think a new lamp the correct...

    9watt CF in 11watt ballast = Bang?

Ahh OK, cheers. I did think of blocking the old one with something but I couldn't think of an elegant solution that would have looked good with the ADA style gear  . Originally I thought floating plants would have been the way to go but then the tank would look dim which I dont want...

    9watt CF in 11watt ballast = Bang?

Just wanted to pick the brains of someone in the know. I've currently got the 11watt model of the Superfish Aquaqube but I'm slowly thinking its overpowered for my needs. This may sound strange but I like the length of the lamp that I have and am unsure of the 'stumpyness' of the smaller...

    Nano tank = Desk Lamp?

I'm hopeless with working out lighting so was wondering if you guys could help. I found this desk lamp today and almost snapped it up but thought I would try and find a suitable bulb first; http://dwell.co.uk/108644/Small-wire-desk-lamp-black/ My tank will be a low-tech 17litre nano and was...

Help Neil to find or create a Nano Light.

Hello everyone, I've been trying to look into finding minimalist lighting for my 17 litre, low-tech nano. I want something along the lines of the ADA Solar Mini which has the aesthetic benefits of not being attached to the glass like a pendant but without the need to attach it to the...

    Arcadia Arcpod Bulbs.

Ta I'll take a look at that! Probably the same with everyone else I'm fed up with the purply pinkish hue you get with the the 'official' Arcpod bulb, so that will be ideal. Either that, or go for a different light all together as I'm not a massive fan of the silver plastic either and how near...
