I would do a 100% water change, refill leave for a few days then add a low stocking of fish :)

I would really recommend the smallest ehiem classic filter, cant remember the name, they can be had cheap second hand, will run forever and do a healthy 400lph :) You could get lucky and find one of the old thermofilters aswell :)

The Wattage given on the heater just tells you how fast it will heat the aquarium :) So yes it will work just fine :)

So a lower lighted tank with good ferts and Co2 will grow just as well as a high lighter but slower? Could i grow demanding plants with around 1.5wpg and good ferts and liquid co2? Sorry to threadjack, Sam.
