Re: Is ''CO2 proof tubing'' any different from the regular t
co2 tubing is made of silicone as the Co2 will cause normal airline hose to go hard and crack then leak.
If the sump is completely covered I'd just chuck a ceramic diffusor straight in there.
Diffusors do a great job, the only reason I don't run one is I've tried to keep equipment out of the tank and also not have the tiny bubbles. This obviously isn't going to be an issue for you :)

I agree 100% with what George is telling you.
Just to add I use 2 checkers.
One on the left hand side of the tank quite near where the outflow from the CO2 enriched supply and another at the opposite end of the tank.
I've tried both in various places but as I am using a high turnover...
from what I've seen an external reactor would be the way to go.
Makes sense too, no where for the gas to go other than to completely disolve into the water.
Can't wait to start using mine!
the idea is you want there to be co2 ready for when the lights come on so the plants get going straight away.
Also you can quite easily turn it off before the end of the photo period and allow the plants to use most of the co2 up just as the lights turn off.
I am going to be starting the CO2...
found this graph, kind of shows the relationship in a round about way.
Was hoping to find the one that shows it clearer.

that varies depending on the hardness of the water though doesn't it george?
I thought that if your water was say 2kh 1ph difference would be like 10 ppm and if you had water of say 16kh 1 ph would be 100ppm
the problem is the bubble count means nothing really.
If you used a poor diffusion method you might have about 8 bubbles per second to get 30ppm where as the same tank with a reactor might need 3 bps to get 30ppm.
there are tables online where you can compare your PH change to your KH level...
lol. I must be lucky then. My missus has been great with mine. Left her incharge for 6 weeks earlier in the year and the tanks looked ace when I got home lol
Not sure what they'll be like when I see them next month as that will be 8 weeks this time!
Exelent, cheers buddy.
I had taken a thought about the drop checker after. I thought I might get a couple of nano ones at different locations to see if my distrobution is ok :)
Thanks for your help :)
I'm ordering a load of bits for my new 300lt tank and am going to go down the FE road.
Before I go ordering a load of bits that won't work together can anyone confirm I've chosen the right stuff?

Reg...
I bought it today and am pretty happy to be honest. You can leave the bottle attached behind the tank and simply press the button to refill. Having read up on it the bottle will only last about a month so will won't work out the cheapest but suits my needs as it will be easy to use for my wife...
I was going to add that I run a DIY setup at the moment but I've decided I'm going to get the cheap one for mine!
It's basically a small diffuser, a bottle of CO2 (like a big aerosol) and a piece of hose.
You attach the defuser onto the inside of the tank then spray some of the CO2 into it...
