I've pulled the sand out and replaced it with gravel. I think there was something maybe wrong with the sand. I had two little bits of HC that didn't die lets see what happens with them.

i've tried all sorts it just always dies. never tried dry start the one plant i put in my turtle tank on dry land hasn't died yet.

ive tried root tabs. i tried cat litter in the past too difficult to work with to light. i cant really afford designer ones.

hi guys I've spent a fortune over the years trying to get hc to grow, and for the life of me can't work out why. I'm doing everything by the book. you can see the flow patten in the video you can also see how dead the plant is. my co2 comes on two hours before the lights my drop checkers...

I'm having one last bash at a high tec tank and so far the only plants doing really well are the 1 2 grow plants I used all the questionable quality plants I used are melting or deed.

Only than that worries me is you're after a low tec set up yet shopping for high out put t5s some thing you may regret.

well worth the money I'll be using them again, just doesn't seem they are very popular. It's a shame because I'm sure anyone on here has used them will confirm how good the are.

That doesn't sound like perling. is it just one line of bubbles, and not bubbles all over the tank if so its a small amount of damage to the plant still nothing to worry about though.

i think my light should be ok i've 4 t5s running front to back the length of my tank 7'x2'x2'. I've just started to dose 2x EI values as I've heard this can increase growth, with out adding light.a lot of the guys with award wining tanks seem to over dose. im going to keep an eye on co2 because...

didn't want to count my chickens, but the tiny bits that were left seem to be showing singes of growth. so big thanks again to Clive :clap: . i think changing the co2 timings helped. not sure i achieved much changing the spray bar angle but i guess every little helps. shame there is only about 5...

its not that densely planted to be honest mate. if ei is max ferts im already over. i think Clive is right co2 is the cause ive got my gas coming on 3 hours before lights now instead of 2 and staying on till they go off sump might be gassing off to quickly. ill see how i get on with that if...

yeah they are figurers for 3 x a week i dose 7x a week so im a bit high if you dose that daily you are well high

mdhardy01 you will have to give me the link to those figurers i cant find them. when i use James calculator, and do the sums from the ei guide on this site, im dosing there or three about. remember im dosing 7 days a week trace and nkp (got the k+p backward earlier sorry)

Wow that seems a lot i was told my doseing was rich mines an ei dose give or take

That dose is every a day nitrate and phosphate they both conain potasium hard water 32 so no magnesium did dose it for a bit got 25 kg in the shed but made no diffrence

the Staurogyne is planted in the substrate ive got 3 power heads which total 32X flow + whatever the filter pumps producing (1000l pond pump slightly throttled). ive change the angles of the power heads and spray bar now so flow is directed at the plants ill give it a couple of weeks see how...

hi ive just read Java moss doesn't like high light high tec tanks, thought it would grow anywhere. is there a moss i could use that over time will attach its self to my bog woods. iv got some Riccia on order, but i really want some thing that does not always need to be tied. thanks for any ideas
