    Native moss

Hello people, I've just seen and collected some moss from some guttering, it looks just like fissidens! Could I get that spreading on some decor like the usual java/Xmas moss? I'm thinking probably not, as the differing temps and it not being true aquatic. But I was thinking if after a...

    Carpeting plants

Good luck with that! I always find that tenellus, hairgrass with moss stones scattered between can become a great, natural looking carpet. And all easy to grow.

    Isoetes japonica

Thanks. Received a bunch of them the other day. Looks about right, just very small. It was a bit of a tangled mess and i ended up throwing a fair amount away. Understand that its a difficult plant (supposedly not truly aquatic) Got to give it a try though, just on the off chance it takes...

    Isoetes japonica

Hi, Has anyone had any experience with this plant? If you have Amano's Nature Aquarium Books 2 and 3, it's in some scapes. Tall thin tubular grass. I brought some and it looks just like a big bunch of lileopsis. I'm 99% sure that it is just a big bunch of lileopsis and they sent the wrong...

    Plants Alive

I got my order from Plant Alive today. Blyxa japonica - 5 Dwarf hairgrass - 25 Sagittaria Pusilus - 25 Blyxa was really good, very happy. The hairgrass was in a bit of a mess, all bunched together but in ok condition. Sagittaria was awful!! In the same bag as the hairgrass and in a massive...

    attaching moss to slate

I've attached java moss to slate and its worked fine. Created quite a nice effect with moss covered wood sitting over it, forming a cushion. here Just covered any exposed slate with sand. I tied it on with fishing line and when I tried to remove it, it took the moss off with it so I would...

    Microsorum narrow

Well I am going to let it all grow out wild a bit for a while so I think I'll just leave them on to grow a bit. Could always use more of the expensive stuff... Could be a gentleman and give it for swapsies :D Thanks for the advice guys.

    Microsorum narrow

Well mine is really coming along nicely, lovely pearling. But I'm just wondering what to do with the new shoots. All on the leaves, the buds grow roots and tiny leaves, I just scrape them off with a nail but i'm wondering, what would be the best way to use them? They're so small!!

    bacopa australis

How do you find is the est way to plant HM? I usually get off almost all the wool from my pots but back when I got HM, I was still new to this (still am fairly)and the roots seemed too delicate to try get rid of all the wool. Think I've got adequate lighting (grown alternathera reinekii before...

    bacopa australis

That looks more like it :) Yeah I'm planning on hacking into it regularly to try and make a nice cushion Is that Hemianthus micranthemoides(spl?) in the front? Love that plant. Tried growing it a while ago but I don't think my specs did it any justice. I'll stick to the Bacopa.

    Soaking plants?

I've never heard of soaking the plants before. Maybe in a diluted snail killer solution, but never for chemicals. I've had plants from mostly Tropica, the cheap pots from most Maidenheads and mail order from Plants-Alive, never had any chemical problems or fish death soon after.

    Carpet of Blyxa Japonica

Always thought of having a nice bush of Blyxa in my tank, but always heard bad things from mail ordered Blyxa Japonica. What sort of requirements does it require? I have a 125 ltr 27gal tank with 40watt of light. pressurized co2 @ 1 bps and daily tropica ferts.

    bacopa australis

Well I got the Bacopa australis, and I think its safe to say that the plant in TDI's picture is Rotala :) Bacopa is looking really nice, so vibrant! You can probably see it in my thread on the tank gallery forum. Just a couple of pots for now, but I can see me getting a few more to make a nice...

Will glosso grow in a non co2 tank? + How to plant??

DAMN!!! Wheres that? The MA@ St. Albans where I go does a good deal on Tropica plants, 6 for £20 any pots. But your local is giving them away.

    bacopa australis

thought it did look like rotala to, but i did some searching last night and it seems like aquarium conditions can affect its look somewhat. tropica says it can develop reddish leaves in the right light but i do like the green to it. very light.guess the only thing to do is buy a load of it! if...
