I have now replaced all the seals and cleaned out the media inside the filter. it has improved but it is still going into calibration mode. The leak into the pump housing has now gone, i have some spare o-rings if anyone needs them.
I got some information back from Eheim, they said it was a...
Thanks Madhav, I have noticed that there is some water inside the filter head, I have just ordered some more seals, I haven't found all the seals that are in the head directly from Eheim so I have ordered some from one of the suppliers I use at work.
Hi all,
I have noticed that my filter is having some issues, it pumps fine but it seems to be stuck in auto calibration.
The lights on the filter cycle up and down then stop for maybe a few seconds and then cycle again.
The speed of the pump also goes up and down (which is normal for auto...
Hi All,
I am looking into sorting out my pipework.
I build liquid cooled computers and use PETG or acrylic tube that I can heat and bend into any shape I need.
Has anyone used this sort of pipe before?
Also does anyone know what plastics are normally used for the pipes or filters?
Thanks
I did run two on my tank ( before buying big eheim filter) with two it is easier to ensure that there is flow on the direction you want and that there is flow all round the tank. I still use a power head to remove dead spots.
i run a 205 on my 60L and i have had no problems with it at all is easy to use and clean etc i havnt seen it for about 4 weeks (is berried under junk). i have read some stuff about the MA Aquamanta saying the pump is noisy but i have neaver used one si i cant confirm, i cant find any dimenstions...
i might go for a EX1200 and the flow will get restricted by the 13mm lilly pipes i would imagen about a 25% lower flow than the rated when using these pipes which will be around 900 L/h which is a 15x turnover.
i did realise i said my filter does have enough flow but i am unsure that is gets thing all the way around the tank, the plants dont move much so i am unsure the flow is good enough?
i dont realy want to put any other equiptment in the tank, i would sooner change the filter!!
Hello guys i al looking at my filter options for my 60L tank, i currently use a fluval 205 but i am unsure if there is enough flow (rated at 680 l/h) bearing in mind that the rated flow is higher than what it does in real life! any ideas?
i do have a spair filter which i will throw on to bump up the filteration it is 500 l/h so total i will have 1700 l/h and will let me direct the flow a bit more.
I have sorted out a EX1200 which i will pick up tomorow.
Thanks for your help
the tank is 39 cm tall, i cant find the mesurement of the pipes anymore but it is the inside lenght that is the problem. if i used the Do!Aqua 13mm pipes they would be a perfect fit!!
thanks Ed.
looking at the sizes of the lily pipes they are a bit too tall for my tank do you think it would look silly with them sticking up above the tank?
i have a 60L tank (below) and im using a fluval 205 with the ribbed hoses. i belive the fittings are 16mm on the filter.
i want to replace the hose and change over to lily pipes, can anyone recommend some pipes for my tank?
should i stick with larger pipes i.e. 17mm?
My aqua one filter i used on my planted tank which ended up infested with algae and snails, some of these snails got into the filter and there they stayed.
I then changed the filter on my planted tank for a better one and used this filter on my cichlid tank because they were getting big and i...
Sunny the fluval 205 isnt a bad filter i use one without any problems and have found it to be a verry good filter you can get one from ebay foe a good price...
you should look at the Fluval u2 or a filter in that range they are a realy easy to use filter, the media sits along the sides of the filter which will make it dificult for the fish to get inside the filter, quite good flow from them too!!
Matt :D
Where is the best place to pick up some lily pipes for my tank i have a 60L with a fluval 205 filter fitted to it and i want some lily pipes, i think the pipes on my filter are 17mm i am a bit unsure about ordering the pipes from the far east but they are cheeper from there.
Any help is...
heating the glass will be fine but unless you carry out an Annealing process it will shatter as it cools! check out

i would warm the pipe to reduce internal stresses and use a dremal and gentley cut out the slits!
if the surface area of the slits...
