    Aquascaper 900 - Comeback Lockdown Tank :)

Seeing this tank in the flesh is even better. I had the chance to enjoy it over a cup of coffee :)

    The simple tank that wasn't...

But the addition of the new clean up crew will do wonders. I recently helped a friend nurse an algaefied guppy tank with the addition of 3 ottos, a handful of ramshorns (courtesy of LondonDragon) and within 2-3 days the plants had no algae on it. The rocks were clean and substrate cleaner than...

    The simple tank that wasn't...

What clean up crew do you have in there? I had something similar and dosing micros, then less water changes whilst I waited for a tank to stabilise. I would chuck in a bunch of ramshorns, ottos, amano and MTS just for the hell of it... as your clean up crew needs help :)

    6ft Sumped Discus Tank

I was a bit spoilt with a few discus breeders nearby. I now have angel fish in my tank as those discus was back in 2011 :D
  12. mlgt

    6ft Sumped Discus Tank

I used food from them before and also beefheart.bloodworms etc. Only worth it if you are bare bottom tank and growing them up. Else can be very messy and turn off the filters when feeding too :) I really miss my discus fish. Notice the film you get from frozen bloodworm/beefheart. But I was...
  13. mlgt

    6ft Sumped Discus Tank

I wouldnt worry about the plants as such, just do a daily water change in a way to boost some oxygen into the tank. Or drop some ferts if you wish. Going extreme can you can get a clear plastic box and plant them and leave them outside so it gets some sun. It is very annoying, but scapes evolve...
  14. mlgt

    6ft Sumped Discus Tank

Yes I had this when I set up my tank before and just used large pieces of lava rock that I had laying about and weighed them down. After a few days it was fine. It is annoying, but that way you have time to adjust the tank layout over time.
  15. mlgt

    6ft Sumped Discus Tank

    Hurry up already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
  16. mlgt

    6ft Sumped Discus Tank

I think will be great one planted. Simplicity is great. Maybe some vallis, ferns, crypts, buces and anubias would be my choice. I would love to have another go at discus again, but London supplies hard water and dont have means to soften water for such a large tank. Hurry up and plant it up!! :D
  17. mlgt

    Branch

Looks lovely. Hope surgery recovery goes fast. I mean you could start to scale back dosing, lights and feeding for now. Or can you not teach someone to help you do a small water change each week? Or having a proper jungle after 6 weeks is also part of the fun to restart the trimming cycle again...

    First Shrimp Tank **UPDATED**

Looks good mate. Hope all is well
  51. mlgt

The forgotten nano... taiwan bee's vanished.

Shrimps can be elusive and hide well, but if you said you have rummaged through things then I guess they might have died and been disposed of by other shrimps. Can happen very quickly as I know shrimps can eat a dead shrimp overnight with the aid of snails. Hope you do find the rest. R

Arcadia 35l low tech kitchen tank

I am going to change it by painting something with a sky blue effect. The cables are hidden behind and limited for space. I am taking out the pelia and will be replacing with some coral pelia or zipper moss. This will make the scape a more intricate one. Also the bolbitis will be replaced with...

Arcadia 35l low tech kitchen tank

I decomissioned my old Arcadia 20l tank and decided to salvage what I could from previous scapes and used up a few pieces of rock that I had stored and most of the pieces of wood. I wanted to create a simple scape with wood cascading from the rock and keep simple plants like java fern and my...
