I would agree with Dan. The altums are lovely. However I would research and ensure that the tank parameters are spot on. It would be a shame to not keep these lovely fish in their zone.

THey tend to go to sleep mode. Its perfectly normal. Cardinals are the same they go nearly opaque and within 10-15 mins the blue colours come back up again.

I have discus fish and I have the same issue. I pump co2 and have a high flow, but I guess over time the fish will adapt. Normally my fish will be hiding out of the way of the flow and during feeding time they will swim for the food and dart around. I would say try a longer spray bar?

Ive managed to find about 20 CPD fry all around a few mm big. Ive transferred them into my nano where I keep my cherry shrimp. However havent had much luck. I feed them every other day with cyclops and I have only counted 5 at the most. Have the rest died?

Any luck with these? Ive got 10 CPD in my CRS tank currently and the temp is at 24 and water changes every 2 weeks via 2 litre bottles with holes drilled in the top to recreate rain. Ive only had these guys for 2 weeks but showing signs of courtship.

I would agree and suggest threadfins. After seeing them for sale at Living Waters and LondonDragon purchasing 10 they are indeed a delight to watch playing in the current and flashing their colours. They will suit your tank and will amuse for hours :)
