i have all the standard stuff in the filter with new filter floss along with purigen.
i have done a water change most days. mainly to remove diatoms
in my new opti-white i am on my second scape as the other was covered in diatoms. i could never get rid even with 1wpg of t5 at a foot above the tank :(

Re: Low Lght + Aquasoil Powder = Diatoms?
high light causes diatoms does it not?
i cant see that amazonia wouldbe a cause of diatoms. it happens in most tanks and especially nanos regardless of amazonia IME
if i was you i would increase fert dosing (maybe double) and get your co2 as high as you can without harming your fish. when the problem has gone slowly decrease dosing and co2 if nessasary, i would keep it up though
i would recommend that you remove the badly infected leaves and then if you dose EI then double the phosphate dosage which should clear it up in a couple of weeks.
thats BBA for sure :( take a look here to help

without dosing or adding co2 i will be very difficult to shift
i have a similar problem but the BGA on the sand. if you do a blackout for about 4 days this should go but the diatoms are harder to get rid of, many people use otos as they like to eat diatoms.
in my nano i have a bad algae problem(BBA and BGA) which i know was caused by too high lighting too quick but to get ride of the BGA i have done a blackout starting yesterday does anyone know if this will get rid of the BBA too? and will it kill my UG?
