Hi folks,

I wanted to start a journal given i've just spend a decent amount of cash on a fully new setup... the first one i've ever been able to do without being on a serious budget. You may have seen my threads asking for advice previously, so here goes....

Tank: Juwel Rio 240 in Grey (Filter Removed)
Filter: Oase Biomaster Thermo 850
Light: Juwel HeliaLux Spectrum LED Light with Wifi Controller
CO2: Pressurised with CO2Art inline diffuser
Hardscape: Redmoor Wood & mini Landscape Rock
Water: 75% RO / 25% Tap
Ferts: DIY Tropica Specialised Nutrition clone
Plants: Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo”, Blyxa Japonica, Anubias barteri 'Petite', Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green', Hydrocotyle tripartita Japan, Christmas Moss, Alternanthera Reineckii 'Mini', Bucephalandra Biblis, Microsorum pteropus Trident, Pogostemon Helferi

It's early days and i'm slowly acimatising the existing fish into RO water from full tap water. One week in and no issues to report right now but also not seeing much growth. time will obviously tell!

Happy with the scape so far. Horrible large rock holding down the large wood which will go in a couple of weeks. Heres a rushed image for a queck view. Will get some proper ones shortly on the SLR.

Week two gone and i've done many water changes with RO to get the DTS level to around 100. Thats down from around 400 at the start. I've been doing EI so far but plan to change to a DIY all in one solution so i can move to an auto doser.
Growth seems slow but there are signs of life. No major issues to support however i don't think the tripartita Japan is doing so well. Looks like the leaves are becoming a little pale and it doesnt seem to be doing much even though its considered a fast grower. Feels a little odd as the Blyxa is growing well and thats always been a plant i use to gauge overall tank conditions. I'm a bit unsure of the lighting power to be honest and whether its actually to strong. I've been running at around 60% power so far.

Made a few tweaks to the left hand side by adding a few little bits of wood to try and ballance the view a bit more.

Will post some pics tonight!

Here’s a few pic of the plants during tonight’s water change. I’m certain something is wrong but I’m a bit confused as to what. Wondering if it might be flow related as I noticed that the skimmer is barely pulling any surface water which indicates a reduced flow for some reason. Any thoughts welcome.
