At the weekend I won an ebay bargain and it was delivered today.
It's a JBL Proflora u403. http://www.hobbyfish.net/index.php?prod ... 4162018038
It cost me all of £62 as it was listed as a faulty return but as new, however, I can find nothing wrong with it. :shh: :D :thumbup...
Easylife website - "EasyCarbo is a very powerful and effective source for aquarium plants. A strong grwoth [sic] improvement is noticable after 1 to 2 weeks. Usable with or without CO2 addition."
Nowhere does it say that it may be harmful to some species of plant. It only tells you not to...
I have the Hydor NRG CO2 system (the one without the gauges) and was wondering whether there was a cheap option or an adapter for the CO2 bottles.
I'll be using it in a 320l tank so the small bottles aren't financially viable.
I planted 25 plants each about 10" long into Caribsea Planted Aquarium.
Dosing with TPN+ ans Easycarbo.
Planted them on last Wednesday and they have collapsed and are starting to turn to mush.
Any ideas?
I was searching but there were loads of mixed opinions. :?
Just had a look at those you recommend, nice. :P
Wow, that would be brilliant, thanks very much.
I've PM'd you.
Egmel, sounds like you and I have the same way of thinking. It's also good to see someone else has been through it so I don't have to.
Looks like a combination of (maybe) sand (for non planted parts) and some clay baseed substrate for planted parts.
Cheers
Thanks for the heads up.
Seeing as CO2 has no detrimental effect on bacterial colonies, shall I dose BOTH external filters then so that I get CO2 rich water flowing over both sides of the tank?
I'll be running two external filters in my new setup, a Fluval 405 and a 205.
I was wondering wether it would be good to diffuse CO2 into the inlet of the 205 (my secondary filter) to try and get 100% absorbtion of the CO2.
The affect on the cultures in the filter doesn't bother me as I'll...
Thanks all for your advice, there's loads for me to think about now.
I'd rather use a clay based substrate as it'll give me more margin for error as you say, I would consider topping with a more innert substrate though for cosmetic reasons, although I'd rather not have a substrate...
