Time to start over! | Currently on DSM but will be Hi-tech fully planted nano

Im not to sure if the moss is dying or not to be honest with you, it looks dry but when I touch it, it is damp  Anything i should know to avoid the same mistakes?

The tank is air tight! although it does not seem to be misting up for some reason. The moss also looks quite dry to me, if I can get you a few photos would you be able to help me troubleshoot? Thanks again for the assistance, Luke

Time to start over! | Currently on DSM but will be Hi-tech fully planted nano

The top is sealed shut! ;) Unfortunately I do not have a reptile heat mat, would the light not make it warm enough on the inside? If not how about placing a cup of semi-warm water in the bottom after airing out for an hour each morning? Is the spray of weak fert you are talking about excluding...

Time to start over! | Currently on DSM but will be Hi-tech fully planted nano

Yeah I thought that was the case, but theoretically it should attach eventually right? I would like to try DBT as I stated above but im not sure how long that would last in this tank Im not to sure if my light would cut it unfortunately. Hydrocotyle sp japan is another personal favourite of mine...

Time to start over! | Currently on DSM but will be Hi-tech fully planted nano

Hey ladies and gents, I have been out of the hobby for about 2 years now and have decided to jump back in! This build will eventually become a fully planted tank hopefully home to some form of dwarf cichlid. This time I thought I would try out the dry start method and see if I can get my moss...

High tech tank with sand substrate

Hey guys, Starting a new build and this time I want to try out the dry start method with a reptile fogger mostly for mosses on my wood, although I do want to try out some other plants using the same method! I will be using compressed CO2 on a timer once flooded and EI dosing so my main...

    STILL have flow issues... :(

I still live at home with my parents so I don't have the room for a dedicated fish stand unfortunately so my tank sits on top of my chest of drawers and the filter sits on the floor of the wardrobe directly beside the tank. My drop checker is a nice green color but I personally don't think...

Heading to a few local LFS stores this weekend with a friend that I convinced to buy a tank (already told him to get signed up to UKAPS) so I will have a look when I am out and about. This is because I cant get the filter any closer to the tank and I am losing a lot of pressure the filter is...

    STILL have flow issues... :(

I done this last week actually when I had the filter out for a clean, from what I could gather the filter should have waaaay more than enough flow to go around the tank its the height/angle that the tubing has to go before it reach's the tank, I think the filter is losing a lot of pressure...

    STILL have flow issues... :(

Hello, Thanks for the reply! What is it you would like to see some photos off? The tank layout? I am currently in work but I am sure I can find some photos on my phone if need be! The filter could be losing pressure due to where I have to have it placed, maybe about two meters below the tank...

Hello Guys, Still running the Dennerle Scapers tank with the Fluval 306 and Gush Lily Pipes (Inlet & Outlet) and I think I am still getting flow issues. I am getting what I believe is Black-brush algae growing around some areas of the wood mostly the back. This is really starting to put a...

Scapers Tank flow issues, recommend me better lily pipes!

Think it's gush I'm going to go for man! The site is down atm tho. I can see the use Magento CMS, I work with it everyday haha I know the pain. What outlet should I go for? Definitely nothing that aims towards the substrate, preferably a straight flow.

    Has anyone downsized filter tubing?

Hello guys, Just wondering if it is possible or if anyone has downsized the size of there filter tubing? I am currently using the Fluval 306 with 17mm Lily pipes and the flow sucks in my 50L Scapers tank. I think I may get better flow with one of the 13mm Jet lily pipes by Gush, if anyone has...

So you think it could do with more? How did you downsize the outlet to 13mm? Yeah I think I mite try a diy version before biting the bullet on a glass one. Thanks, Luke.

Scapers Tank flow issues, recommend me better lily pipes!

Hello mate, Thanks for the input! How many slots is on the intake? And is it the 17mm or the smaller version? This is for my 50L, is it a glass spray bar you are using? If so on the back or side of the tank, sorry for all the questions dude! Thanks, Luke.

    Issues with Monte Carlo

Maybe I should look at finding a way to down size my filter tubing then? Just checked out that ADA lily pipe, £120!?! What makes it so special? The slots in it look even smaller than the one I currently have. Thanks, Luke.

Scapers Tank flow issues, recommend me better lily pipes!

Hello! I made the slots on my current inflow bigger to try and counter this issue as I seen this as a problem from the get go! Could the fact I am using 17mm lily pipes effect the flow? I will be sure to check them out! They are rather expensive so I just want to be sure as to what I can do to...

    Issues with Monte Carlo

Yeah and I'm not so sure a spray bar would be effective with my current layout. I have a cheap set at the minute and they are awful, all of the flow hits the bottom, not spread over the tank. Do you have any particular sets you would recommend? Cheers, Luke.
  29. LukeDaly

    Issues with Monte Carlo

Hey guys, The last day or so a few pieces of my Monte Carlo are looking a bit rough. (see below) Does this happen if I don't meet light or co2 requirements? Or could this be because of me spot dosing easy carbo on a few algae spots? If that is the case have I killed it, or will it come...
