I need to lubricate some moving parts that are hard to reach so a spray would be easier. I'll have a a look at the local DIY shop for a silicon spray.
Thanks all!
Hello
Can you use WD40 to lubricate the filter parts? Or is it toxic to fish/bad for the filter parts?
I've used vaseline before but it tends to harden on some parts.
Cheers

Hi guys
My tank is about 6 meters away from my bath. I want to fill it with water and then pump it directly to the aquarium for quick waterchanges.
Does anyone know if 6 meters will work? Or is that too far away for a pump? How many L/H should I get for this?
Cheers
Gilles
Hello
I've recently acquired some clear filter tubing to use on my gUSH inlet & outlet. However, since the tubing was rolled up in the factory it still bends when I connect it to my filter glassware, making my inlet & outlet bend too. Does anyone know how I can "unbend" the tubing, making them...
Hi Clive
yes, the filter is completely full. I've reduced the flow using the safety lever. There's an icon on the lever indicating the flow capacity (see this picture, above the Eheim logo). I didn't know this fitler had that option.
Hello
I have too much flow in my tank, to the point that my E. Acicularis loses it's grip in the substrate. I'm using an Eheim 2073 (1050 l/h) on a 80-90 liter tank connected to a spray bar at the back.
What's the best method for reducing flow? I can point the spray bar more towards the...
I think it depends on your scape. The oBubbles produces a lot more oxygen then the other two. I wouldn't chose that one if I was going for a planted tank. I think the normal lily pipe is the better but that's just my opinion ...
Thanks for the link by the way, I was looking for new curved...
I feel your pain, I had the EXACT same problem with this filter. It's the inner V-part that can break easily, especially when the rubber O-ring is a bit dry.
I switched to an Eheim 3 pro and loving it. Much easier to prime and more l/h. Makes more noise though and watt consumption is higher too.
I've finally connected the new filter. Flow and circulation has greatly improved, which is gooed. Noise is a bit louder but nothing bad. I do have the impression that I have a bit too much flow at the front, my Otocincli have a difficult time staying attack to leaves. Is this normal?
Great! my living room is connected to my bedroom, that's why I want it to be quiet. My Eheim is quiet too but I can still hear it humming. The filter media will be 1 biological + 1 chemical (Seachem Purigen) + 1 mechanical (foam). The spraybar will be placed against the back.
The only downside...
I have one. I like it although I find it a bit week for my 80-90l tank. I recommend using a spray bar, I have it equipped with the official Eheim spray bar installation set. I'd simply use the old filter media in the new filter and then replace the filter media part by part.
Hi guys
I have a 60x40x40cm tank (about 80l net) connected to an Ecco Pro 200 (600l/h + spray bar) combined with a small pump (200l/h). I'm thinking of upgrading the filter to improve overall water circulation. The Eheim Pro 3 2073 has an output of 1050l/h, is this a good choice or will it be...
The diameter should be the same as the filter inlet/outlet provided by Eheim. Hydor offers different sizes for different tubing sizes. I think it's available in 12/16 and 16/22.
My plants are only gently moving at one specific spot in my tank. I assume this is poor circulation?
*edit* and another question: if you're using a spraybar, should it point directly to the front glass or somewhat downwards?
See bold text. I want the best distribution of CO2 and fertilizers since I'm planning on upgrading my lighting (1x T5 24w--> 2x T5). I also had the impression that my P. Stellatus in the right back corner was having some CO2 difficulties (but it's a bit of a difficult plant). Maybe I should...
Hi guys
My tank is about 80 liters (60x40x40) and I'm using an Eheim Ecco Pro filter @ 600l/h. It is connected to a spray bar at the left side of the tank, so the flow goes from left to right. My plants are gently moving but I still think my flow is a bit on the low side, especially when the...
Spray bar for sure! If installed correctly, it will produce an even circulation throughout the entire tank. I recommend placing it at the back so the water goes from the back to the front and back to the filter inlet. Combine this with an inline CO2 diffuser and you have very good CO2...
This one? http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/ ... 8993ea21ef
IMO, they look like rubbish. The point of having a nano canister filter is to remove as much filter equipment in the tank without losing filter capacity. Those new Eheims have an inlet that looks like an internal filter, what's...
I'm also looking for a nano cannister filter but my tank is only 8-10 liters. Most small canister filters are 200l/h minimum ... HOBs are no option, they make too much noise.
Hi guys
I'm planning on rescaping my dad's Cichlid tank. The tank size is 150cmx50x50 (about 350l). I want to buy an extra pump to create more circulation. How much l/h should I aim for?
Thanks
Gilles
