After a few weeks, cut the long stems and replant them into the substrate. The more you cut, the more it will grow sideways and create a tight carpet.

i would choose S Repens any day over Glosso, it looks so lush when a proper carpet is grown with it.easier to maintain and it doesnt uproot easily.

i have used these for attaching moss to wood, not thick pieces but small branch like wood. braiding bands hair poly rubber elastics 2 Packs of CLEAR approx 500pcs | eBay i also used them to attach java fern, and moss to mesh pads.

:) found the thread when googling for the plant mate. I want a new carpet from elcharis sp mini as its not growing dense enough for my liking. Not sure whether LB will be grow too big in terms of height for my tank though.. thats why im in two minds whether or not to give it a go.

How did you get on with growing this?

By trimming the plant down quite a lot it will encourage growth, pretty sure you can't re plant what you cut off though I don't think it grows roots like stem plants.

Cut the stems below the plantlet and replant.

Re: What is this deficiency symptom on my hygrophila corymbo I think it is a lack of CO2, Ceg says holes in leaves are due to poor flow of CO2 or low level of C02.

Darrel, I was wanting to use this plant for my upcoming scape, but after reading your threads regarding this its obviously best to grow this emeresed first. Will a cube with ADA Amazona II be suffiecient for emersed growing? How would i plant it? Do i just sit the plant ontop of the substrate...

Its the Staurgyne Repens that are affected the most mate, im going to try and up my flow as i have put it down quite a bit. I thought that if i use a CO2 reactor the co2 will be disolved enough for me not to have a heavy flow.. so i will crank it back up tonight and see if i get any changes...

Paul, thanks for the link mate its funny actually as i noticed one of my crypt leaves complety melted yesterday also. But its strange that it only seems to be one area that is affected (but it is spreading mind)

If your getting holes in your plants i would suggest adding more KNO3 to your regime.

Yeh i plant them individually you see them filling out sideways sooner or later.

Hi, i was sent this plant from a member on here some time ago and just wanted to know what it was? It has recently started to sprout long tall shoots and they seem to be producing new leaves or buds. You can see the shoots in the image. Thanks

I can confirm xmas moss does stick to rocks and things i have a shed load of it in my tank and it creeps to the rocks and grows on them. Attach it in clumps with fishing line wrapping it round loads of times it will grow over the line.

Cant really tell to be honest mate i know mine is thiner and more stringier than yours an its also a darker green.

Yeh the white bits were under the substrate mate, its the same size as a normal sized pen.

Its been in a tank and taken on this look.

Sam when you say his light is quite low do you mean the length of time it's on or something else? As I seem to be having the same issue as above but only after I cut my cuttings and planted then elsewhere.

I actually used ebay for the green machine as it was 25p cheaper haha. And i have some plants coming from Aquatic Magic (ebay) but they come from malasia and are yet to arrive so cannot comment.

I received my plants from the Green Machine in perfect condition good sizes too.
