LB is a difficult plant to grow well. When you say you "fail miserably" what does that mean, no growth? turns to mush? algae ridden? etc I suspect that you light intensity isn't sufficient to get the compact lawn effect. Also ensuring that there is sufficient flow over the lawn is important...

u can but with fissidens being so fine its challenging. I normally superglue it myself, works very well

Vallis and Easycarbo dont mix well If you want vallis you cant really use Easycarbo etc Andyh

i would buy from TGM myself. Never seen plants wrapped so well and healthy! The 1-2 grow are a similar size pot but i have always found you get more dense growth in them. I would recommend them!

I superglued the the moss to my manzi wood in my current scape, was easy to do. Just dont use super runny super glue. Did experience a very small amount of dieback on a few bits but the fresh growth soon took over. So easy! Andy

defo Staurogyne and some very healthy stuff at that! He will have a good light level/CO2 to get the lovely compact growth. (Also good pruning skills)

I aint professing to be a HC guru! But with my experience you need to give it some time then once its started growing give it a good prune flat. This then encourages new growth and after a few week prune again and it should start carpeting. This has worked for me. (plus good light and CO2) Andy

Thanks Matt, i believe a lot of my success in my current setup is the fact that there are so many shrimp constantly foraging in the moss and keeping it nice and clean! I don't think i trim it enough! :eh:

I have what i believe to be Pogostemon Helferi in my tank and i would like to prune it and use the cuttings elsewhere in my tank. Whats the best way to do this as they are getting a little tall as they are in a fairly low light set-up?

I will go and have good rub (pardon the pun!) I have and aint gritty, infact i think it could be some sort of moss? But not sure, it was very easy to pull off the wood its just came off in clumps! Any ideas?
