Hi all, would you mind helping me identify this whip tail catfish, I think it is a Rineloricaria parva but I am not sure. I think it is a male and I want to get a female to go with him.

just to clear things up these rams like i expect all others do eat shrimp and they cant be keped in the same tank, i found the remains of a shrimp this morning with a ram hovering over it. (was a bit of a shock because i thaught i had removed all 12 of the shrimp to my other tank)

Ember tetras, they are nice and red. if the shrimp will fit in the fish's mouth then they are seen as food so stay with small fish. i have got threadfin rainbows, some white neon tetras, Boraras maculatus and some harlequins and have had no problems. hatchets are a nice option they aer surface...

i think i might go for these Emerald eye rasbora they look nice i am going for a Iwagumi style tank with hair grass type plants and tgm blue stone.

Cheers i have moved my remaining hatchet into my nano because that has a glass top! it is just the harlequins in there and two threadfins.

i would stick with more of what you have. one or two species look more dramatic. maby add some ottos to help with the cleaning!!

sorry to hear about your fish, by far the best way it to remove the effected fish and put them in a hospital tank, this can be any large container. do a series of 50% water changes on the origional tank to prevent the spred of the problem to other fish. treat the other fish in their hospital...

The new fish are fine and i have found out that they love cucumber they have eaten the whole pece in one day and night!!! gready sods!! :lol:

the test i have does both it onley changed slightley, 90% or the substrate has been used for 6 months in the tank to grow algie!!! :lol: i waited for the levels to drop to nearley zero then started to plant the tank Regards Matt

i did a 100% water change when i planted the tank and the nitrate levels are at zero. so i figured it would be fine for fish. :)

Will ottos eat lettuace and will it effect anything else in the tank i.e. the plants, the fish or the shrimp?

i will buy some tonight then and get them in, i put a load of old media in the filter then ran it on an empty tank for a week and a half (with new aqua soil in the tank) so should be good to go!!!!

dwarf cocatoo cichlids breading pair

i have a 60L tank soon to be planted with red moor root and TGM blue stone i want shrimp and need to house my cichlids in the tank but what would be a nice fish to go in there, more small ones the better! Thanks Matt

my angels are peaceful and seem to get on with the cichlids if they stay away from each other wich they do. the angels always stay together and look realy nice but if they have to go then so be it, i realy want a 200L but not got the money :( one of my cichlids wont eat and has been this way...
