I have an Interpet Fishpod 120L I've been running for over five years. It has a variety of low/med light plants, gravel, and Mopani wood, which were doing well over all this time, being fed 5ml Neutro daily, along with half a cap of Neutro CO2 daily. Weekly water change is 30-40%. Filter is a...
Is this two separate strips ?
Could this just sit on the cover glass of the tank ?
Finally would one of these do a 36" x 12" x 15" tank with liquid carbon, but maybe going pressurised later ?
After having to sell my Rio 400 with FE C02, external, UV, reactor, etc, etc, I started a little Clearseal 3 footer, and wasn't fussed what (plant wise) was in it. I eventually got some stems from AE, and still had some Java Fern, Crypts left (all the swords etc went with the Rio).
Anyway...
Now I'm down to one 110L tank with liquid C02, I've been using two Elite Stingray 15's mostly because they fit on the ends of the tank, and my plants aren't anything special (One 39w T5), it's mainly about fish: 4 albino corys, two female and one male dwarf gouramis, half a dozen glo lights, and...
I remember Dave Spencer using a cupboard from Argos with a piece of metal tubing for a small tank stand.
Assuming I find a piece of conti board of 36" to sit over the top, as its for a 36" x12"x12", where ( and maybe how) should I strenthgen it. It being this ...
I've just bought a Superfish 1400 external, and although it has Bio Balls, Ceramic Rings,Carbon, and three floss shaped pads, there are no sponges.
OK, maybe it doesn't need sponges, but are there spare shaped floss pads available, and could I put sponge in ?
Has anyone used this filter ?
ISTR...
My very old Bioforce 2200's UV on our little pond had failed, so I thought I would try one of the Hozelock EcoPower+ gravity filters and move a Bioforce 3000UV from our bigger pond up to the small one, and install the EcoPower on the large one (which had the recommended Titan 3000 pump already...
Have just seen this via a newsletter/email from the shop.
http://www.aquatics-online.co.uk/catalogue/aquatic-plants-live-.asp
Is it me, or are plant prices going up fast ?
I've just had an email from Matt @ PFK saying their website has been hacked, losing names, addresses, email addies, and possible telephone numbers.
Worrying :-(
I have a chance to refill all five of my 2kg FE's and my Aquamas Bottle at once. There is nowhere local, and I usually have no transport, so this would be a one off, as I'm getting a lift.
Considering a 2kg FE wil last me anywhere between three to six months, how long would the "shelf life" be...
I have an Aquamas reg that has a loose clear plastic pressure dial cover (bottle needle side).
I have usually just shoved it back on. Would any c02 be lost ?
When I first set up our little pond about five years ago, I managed to find a form of Salvina (I think it was grown hydroponically as it was in a small plastic container with clear fluid that wasn't water), but it wasn't salvina natans. It seemed bigger and the leaves were more erect.
It did...
When I got my last 36" Clearseal tank, it came with two bottles each of Tetra Safe Start and Tetra Easy Balance.
As I normally use Tapsafe and change 25% water weekly, I didn't want to leave the water changes that long but still wanted to give the Easy Balance a go to see how it affected pH, KH...
For some reason Excel was OOS for a while when I set a 36x12x15 with 2x39w T5s up.
So I stuck two of the yeast based bottles (Nutrafin ?) in just to have something.
Now that my Excel has turned up, should I stop the bottles and dose Excel only, or will the recommended dosgage (every second day)...
As I couldn't find a luminaire as small as big as the tank (Clearseal 36x12x15"), I ended up with this:
http://www.ukpetsupplies.com/Details.aspx?ProdId=3088&CatId=1349&ParentId=1349
Is it too much for the tank ?
I would have gone for this, but didn't think the light would be even as the ends...
I have my poor old 36wx4 T8s sorted for my Juwel Rio 400 with FE C02 (easy peasy as it's near enough systemised), but after a chance visit to Pets@Home, I canced on a 36"x12"x15" of much cheapness :D
Anyway I didn't fancy the only hood they had, and the lighing options were of the not very...
I've had this inline FE CO2 setup for about two and a half years now, and it has been easy to use with good results.
Sometimes there is a build up of gas at the top, so I bleed it with the small tap to restore the water level.
Today though I cleaned the XP3 filter that feeds the reactor, just...
Co2 ?
Deffo a pain in the proverbial
FE guy appeared with a black replacement FE while my two 2k FE and Aquamas bottle are away being refilled.
Unfortunately the pressure was worse than the two I'm having refilled.
Nearly below 50bar
So I'm having to do without until mine are refilled...
Does any have any idea where I could get a new set of seals for my Aquamas regulator ?
I've checked their site AND emailed them, but I don't think they want to know
Otherwise , can anyone recommend a reg that won't dump when the pressure goes down, works with a FE, and the Aquamas...
I was surprised to see no posts here already ?
Anyway, I have two small ponds (more of outside raised fishtanks really), both made from railway sleepers and liner.
The smaller one is 162 gallons and is on the patio.
Filtering is by a Titan 200 solids pump and a Bioforce 2200UV pressurised...
Apologies for posting on TFF first, I didn't know we were up and running yet
I've had my Co2 running successly for a while (after a false start when I lost the whole first bottle etc, etc  ).
Bearing in mind ths is a FE on a Aquamas reg, should be OK until the righthand guage in the...
