Ha thats definitely true for the hiding bit, know they are in there and see some, sometimes, but they still manage to dodge me! fishwise they are very very small, actually smaller than the shrimp but I guess it may be an issue, possibly, I shall keep an eye on them

Likely depends if its actually sand or that dorset style pea gravel jazz, either way if you consider its been exposed to the elements, bacterias etc you would need to sterilise it very well and I do know of someone who used it, fatalities ensued, just isnt worth the risk despite how nice it...

Just done a reading for mine and after 4 days my nitrites are 0.25 and ammonia around 0.75, so I would say it may be starting to stabilis but not anywhere near it yet, will be checking daily :) I have definitely heavily plannted which I hope will speed things up!
