I have a 550D, which is very similar to the 600D, and I like it a lot. Very easy to use :) Again, I have very limited use of Nikons so can't really be helpful there!

Do you have a feel for using layers? Layering bits of an image onto each other? Very useful and a good place to start :) Essentially, you're going to want to create a black border around your image. I'll try and knock up a step by step this eve using gimp :)

I had the opertunity to go into a Peter Lik gallery in Las Vegas. It was one of the highlights of Vegas for me. Stunning photography displayed superbly. Massive prints all perfectly lit for optimal viewing :)

Really stunning. I'm kicking myself that I didn't make time to go to the Ansell Adams gallery in Yosemite park when I was there.

Hey guys. It's come up in a few threads lately, and I realised that - even though I'm an IT geek - I have no idea when it comes to calibrating my monitors at home or work. At work I have the luxury of 2x 22" Samsung SyncMaster 226cw widescreen monitors! They're bad ass! :lol: at home however...

I managed to slot the stones more or less back into place, and remove the peanuts :lol: lovely slab of moss :)

I found that the 2006 version seemed to have lost some functionality, and just didn't give you as much freedom. It may also be that they changed how stuff works a bit and I haven't figured it out. I now make sure I have several copies of 2005 installation files, as I can never seem to find it...

I always shoot in RAW :) I usually use full manual, just to force myself to play with settings, but most of these were shot on semi-auto RAW to be honest, and then I've played about with levels and such in RAWShooter Essentials 2005 :)

Thanks :) I think some of this is down to viewing it on different monitors and such. I noticed when I looked at the photos on my laptop at home the first one looked a little bright. I must read up on monitor calibration and all that stuff at some point :)

For processing RAW files I use RAWShooter Essentials 2005 which I think is great for a free software package. Adobe bought this and turned it into their Lightroom product :) Other than this, I use photoshop CS2 or sometimes GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). GIMP is free and pretty...
