Plastic missing off of front of guage

Many thanks. Been on the phone to Aquarium gardens today, very very helpful company, decided to buy a new reg from them as mines been sitting around collecting dust and obviously getting damaged. New tank so I treated myself to a new reg to go with it :)

Plastic missing off of front of guage

I've just dug out my co2 regulator and the plastic is missing from the front of one of the gauges. Will this still be OK to use? I'm presuming the CO2 doesn't reach the front of the gauge hence will be totally fine, just wanted to check first. thanks

Whats the current popular (best) inline diffuser?

Hmm thanks :) I have a 180 lt tank and already have two 2217 filters on it (well ones a 2317). I'm replacing my Pro3 which I've given up on after numerous problems, I was running with just the pro 3, but since deciding to get rid of it, have purchased two 2217 filters to replace it and give me...

Whats the current popular (best) inline diffuser?

I'm thinking about replacing my up atomizer, not because I've had a problem with it, more because my new filter has 12/16 pipe and my up atomizer 16/22. Will do some tests first to see what the output is like using the 16/22 up atomiser and 16/22 spraybar (zeus gave me good advice in another...

    Does PH test solution expire?

I upped the bubble count a bit, hard to count in a second now. Things are a lot better, bubbles getting to the bottom of the tank, drop checker showing a drop from 7.5 before CO2 to 6.5 two hrs after CO2 went on. Also checked at 4 hrs and it had gone down to 6.4 Fish seem happy so don't think...

Zeus said on one of my threads that he uses https://www.amazon.co.uk/Semlos-Resolution-Calibration-0-00-14-00-Measurement/dp/B01C5OOF6I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1507150456&sr=8-3&keywords=pH+pen That has a lot of good reviews, it also has about 36 reviews saying it's rubbish or inaccurate. I'm...

    Does PH test solution expire?

Thanks. I might get one of the pens. Today I took 4 test tubes, midday, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm (CO2 comes on at 1pm to 7pm) midday and 2pm were the same colour blue. I turned my co2 up slightly, 4pm and 6pm were getting towards green, very obviously more green than the first two. Maybe I need more...

    Does PH test solution expire?

Hi, I have a API multi test kit that's 7 years old, I also have an additional PH test kit that's about 5 years old. I have 4dkh solution. I had my CO2 on from 1pm until 7pm. I initially had my drop checker on the side of the tank, using 4dkh and a few drops from my 5 year old kit. It stayed...

Regulator washer between reg and thread convertor

I'm talking rubbish as usual :) While bubbles are still coming out, it's dropped from 60 to just under 30 bar, I squeeze the handle and it's back to 60, so all is working fine :)

Regulator washer between reg and thread convertor

A friend had a leather hole punch, that made a perfect size hole. Zero leaks :) The only very weird thing is it seems to work without squeezing the fire extinguisher handle. But the knob that pushes needle into FE turns fine and can turn bar to 0 or up to, well I set it at 3 (in line UP...

Regulator washer between reg and thread convertor

They look like they might do, glad its a packet of 50, already wasted 10 trying to make the hole bigger :) Drilling doesn't work, neither does heat. Using a scapel is impossible, ends up splitting it. Just tried a grinding dremel bit, that's made the hole bigger but not quite big enough...

Regulator washer between reg and thread convertor

No, hard to explain, the washer needs to be a bit wider than the thread as it sits in a wider gap past the thread, hence fibre washer is either too small or breaks when getting it in. Will see if any of the things Stuart linked to dies the trick

Regulator washer between reg and thread convertor

Hi all. I stupidly took off my thread adapter today and the washer in the reg is ruined. It's a bowl shaped washer if that makes any sense. 12 mm edge to edge with a 6mm hole in the middle. Could I use an o-ring or a load of ptfe? the reg has MIGNON on the front and K1 N 081819 110 BAR RH...

Been using a FE for quite a while now, every time I refill it, I replace the fibre washer with a new one (all from the same batch). The previous refill, it was on the tank for about a month, when I heard a hissing sound, and had to tighten the main regulator nut onto the FE. I thought it was...

    Fire Extinguisher Co2 - Illegal?

    Still struggling with CO2

I THINK everything is now fine. Most of the fish are swimming happily all over the tank, 3 however have spent the last hour or so at the top towards the back corner (triangle tank), but whether that's a fluke or they think there's too much CO2, I'm not 100% sure. Have taken PH readings...

    up atomizer placement

Hi all. Have taken the plunge and decided to replace my home made reactor with the up atomizer. Does it matter where I position it on the outlet pipe? For instance, can I position it a few inches after the pipe leaves the filter, and have it simply dangling (well dangling is the wrong word...

Atomizer, Spraybar & Koralia on a corner tank.

Many thanks It all appears to have gone superbly, cleaned the filter, bled the air out, no problems at all. Also changed disposable bottle for fire extinguisher, took about 3 mins to do (plus checking for leaks, there weren't any), thought it would be way more difficult. Finally I put in a...

Did you work out an optimum position please? I am going through exactly the same thing this weekend. Just had a play, think it's going to be perfect. Glad there's a few in the packet, tried fixing one to a spare piece of pipe, your instructions work fine. Only thing is, they're hard to turn, needing a spanner, it's very hard to judge when they're in fully. Tighten slightly too much and they...

Thanks Bob No the spray bar is only around 12". I think I'll get a full length spray bar and also a small in size powerhead/circulation pump. With the corner tank being so deep and the tanks shape, I'm not 100% convinced that a spray bar alone will achieve 100% circulation. Many thanks for...

Thanks all. Yep what you say makes sense Colin, however for someone new to CO2, it makes sense for me to have some sort of general indication as to CO2 getting into the tank and how well it's distributed (will be moving DC around every day to monitor different areas once I get it stabilised...
