Yes, I do have a touch of that below the level of the plants. I though that was down to a lack of flow below the plants. I have started adding Easy Life Ferro to supplement iron as well so I can at least rule that out. It looks like I should change my EI recipe as well then.

I have 4 x TMC growbeam 600's over the top running at 50% for 8 hours. They are around 6CM from the surface. Tank is a 180l Juwel Rio.

I can't tell you in PPM but i can tell you what I add to a solution: 4tsp Potassium Nitrate 1tsp Potassium Phosphate 6tsp Magnesium Sulphate 500lm water. I dose 40ml 3 times a week.

If you are using in conjunction with the internal filter then that should be fine. Next you need to ensure you are up to the right level on the CO2 front.

Interesting that you say lack of PO4. I dose EI levels of it and my tap water is also loaded with the stuff so of all the nutrients that would be my least expected deficit.

I forgot to add, I've ditched the Koralia and added a full length spray bar instead so the flow you mention is not as fierce now. Also, CO2 is on 3 hours before lights on :)

Thanks guys. I'll try and up the CO2 but i'm thinking I might struggle with the diffusion. I'm pretty sure at least some of the Blyxa is getting the flow as there is a good swirling effect showing on the water surface.

Thats either a Crypt or a sword of some discription. These should be planted in the substrate and not on rock/wood.

Tropica grow most of their plants emersed. greenline tend to be mostly submersed. emersed plants can be easily grown as nutrients are pulled form the air rather than the water column. I assume thats why.

I've never seen anything decent in Leicester's Pets at Home. Plants are always in short supply and not good quality. I use Birstall Garden Centre these days for Tropica.

See I've never had a problem with Riccia or Glosso and once established, hairgrass. Its just the HC they love to dismantle... i'm not even sure they are eating it as theres a load just floating up at the serface i havent bothered to anchor down again.
