While I was adding the background to the tank I noticed the Pogostemon erectus's root system which is massive, then at closer inspection I noticed that its also growing on top of the sand creeping down to the middle. Would trimming the roots cause much damage to the plant if they get to far to...

Thanks Ceg. That's just an air pump I had some surface scum so I used it for disturbance. I see your point with the spray bar which is no great deal to shift, water change day tomorrow so I can shift it then. I currently don't have a dosing regime was thinking about trying EI. Also was gonna...

Got my plants yesterday with no complications. The Vallis tiger wasn't in stock so they added nana instead. Got a few shots for you guys. The Rotala has had a couple of trims trying to get it bushy. I think a lot of these plants were grown emersed. The Crypt and Hydrocotyle looked a bit...

The top of the cabinet doesn't have a base just a lip for the tank to sit in. So I put it in before I placed the tank on it.

3 Nano 'heterogeneous' Triptych - The end.

The carbonated water has got me interested in trying it. But got a question about. Does it get put in while its fizzy or do you wait for it to go flat? Sorry for the if this sounds noobish just want to check to make sure I do it properly.

    ..... A little teaser!

I have the 2000lph model. I found that the uplift was quite loud and wasn't a fan of the surface skimmer, what I did removed it and shoved the uplift into the hose which eliminated the noise. I think they are good filters but the plastic connections are quite cheap think that was causing the noise.

I love killis I've had many species over the years. Since your tank is quite large and killis are generally quite small have you thought about adding a larger species like Fundulopanchax sjoestedti?

    A Japanese Garden of sorts

I have 4 different kinds of shrimps and the most effective ones that clean up my tanks are the tiger shrimps Caridina cantonensis and the Sunkist shrimp Caridina cf. propinqua. The tigers breed easily bust you need to hatch the sunkists in brackish water.
  44. Derek Tweedie

    A Japanese Garden of sorts
