    Wanna be Borneo Biotope

'Java fern' is correct for a borneo biotope. A lot of cultivars we have are also found there naturally rather than being man made
  2. M

    50l borneo cube

Very very very slowly I imagine :D Toying with the idea of a buce carpet but that would detract from the natural feel I think
  3. M

    50l borneo cube

Sorry I'm late :) Lighting is the standard 5050 led that came with the tank. Quite dim but I don't need bright light's for this one. Fish are likely going to be bororas merah if I find them

If you'd like to pm me I'll send you something suitable for the emersed part that is biotope correct ;)

Is crepidomanes not Indian? I *may* have a semi aquatic fern from borneo soon. Trying to persuade him at the moment but if it turns up I'm happy to let you have a small sprig :)

    Buce tank

Way to cloudy for good photos but here is how it stands at the minute. Plenty more to go in when I add some height with hardscape. The java ferns are coming out and will be replaced with more buce and some rarer ferns. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Plot twist. Bought myself an ro unit so back to puffers again. Found a glorious piece of wood at my local maidenhead. The rocks have been 'aquired' pre mossed. Heres a fts as it stands at the minute. It needs considerably more plants. There is a lot of space behind everything you can see for...

Hide and Seek Riverbed (Low tech)

Id be inclined to set up a population of cherries before hand too :) In 3 months with a starting group of 20 there is no reason you wont end up with 2-300 easily if there is nothing to predate on them.

    Fish room New Parosphromenus !

My advice would be to ditch the bettas. Who needs fish? The funny looks from him may offend your shrimps so youd be better off with a shrimp only room.... You are living one of my many dreams now :)
  36. M

    Fish room New Parosphromenus !

Optiwhite shrimp room, thats just showing off :) Are you concerned about evaporation affecting the ceiling in there?

    Island Shore - 60 x 30 x 45 Rock, grass and hopefully class!

You would be supprised how dry you can have the leaves :) Hairgrass can be grown in open air as long as they can access water, and i know hc can be grown in the same way so maybe h can too?
  41. M

    Taiwan Bee Nano

I would deffinately recomend sulawesi shrimps. Very different in behaviour to anything else i have kept. The thing i loved about them when i had them was the challenge of them. Far more difficult than bee shrimp in my opinion although they will reward you eventually :)
  42. M

    Island Shore - 60 x 30 x 45 Rock, grass and hopefully class!

That rock is slate i belive :) Look in any garden center, this type is labeled as rustic slate. Very nice use of it i might add. Agree on the dry start method, drain as much water out as you can and it will be about right :)

  90. M

Skinz180189's 60L Budget Tropical Tank *Now Planted!* (56K)
