Okay so this has been running for what...nearly two years now?! That's a long time. I literally haven't touched the tank for months now, but all seems well apart from the glass being somewhat algae-ridden but it's nicely grown in and everything. I'm planning to give it a tidy up and re-stock it...

Wow, this has really matured into something nice. I've got to admit, I didn't really like the hardscape at the beginning but now love the look of this aquascape. It just shows you how letting a tank mature can change everything.

This is looking great and has real potential! I think it would come on leaps and bounds if it had more of a foreground and transition between foreground and mid. :)

I actually don't mind the Angelfish too much, if anything I think they look a bit too big for the aquascape and it takes away from the scale o things. Your photography definately has it's own style, I could probably chose your photo out of a line up. It should look good once grown in a bit...

Re: My first Layout I think this has good potential. The main rock is just about big enough, the smallest three might be in danger of getting lost in flora though. You're definately on the right track there, even if you stuck with that it wouldn't be a bad aquascape. :)

I too like the idea of a riparium, it's nice to see people trying their hand at it. What are your plans for planting? (Jheez, I dunno if it's my screen or dodgy eyesight but that blue photo blinded me! :lol:)

I really like this, crypts are my favourite plant by a mile and the jungle feel is always a nice touch. I can't help but think adding some more wood would add a lot to the aquascape though.

Wow, this is amaing - the sense of scale on this thing is immense.

I'm astonished at the rate at which the plantlets are growing! I only look at the tank a few times a week, and each time I look the growth is visibly noticable. There's two plantlets - one with three leaves and another with two. I feel like a proud father. :lol: I'm really enjoying this tank at...

Like Dan said, this just keeps getting better for me which is suprising because sometimes I find that aquascapes are a bit of a let down once plants etc are added to great hardscape. This has looked amazing from the offset though. Definately my favourite aquascape - keep it coming! :D

Thanks Mark, but the wood isn't staying like that. Sorry I didn't make it clear. I'm going to have it poking through the plants and stuff towards the surface supportin the U-shaped composition. It's an interesting idea though... The Cherry Barbs seem to like it anyway, swimming in and out of...

I love this, looks great but I've always been a huge fan of your hardscaping. ;) I can see it with some Crypts, Anubias, hairgrass and something like HC - should be great once planted.

This is need of some serious attention! (The journal and tank!) I've been so preoccupied lately, and haven't dosed the tank in about a month. Everything seems to be alright though! It might be because of high stocking, there's now seven Ember Tetras, five Cherry Barbs and two Peppered Cories...

It's looking nice! The discus must love it. Can I ask why you removed the external? I would personally have kept it... Maybe try a pump to get some water movement, that would probably help clarity aswell.

I love it! I find the right peice of wood a little distracting but I can't put my finger on why though. Doesn't look quite right for me. I really like your choice of plants too, this should be great!

I'm sure the kids will like it! Like you said, I would get the Tetra numbers up. I'm not sure if Kribs would be suitable, they tend to be quite aggressive and I'm not sure if the tank is big enough for the other fish to have their space. Maybe try Rams as an alternative when you're sure things...

I love how this is turning out! I love the natural woodland type feel to it.

Re: Once upon a time at the riverbank 125Ltr Wow, when I saw it I thought you had done a rescape or something! It's made a great difference and I think you should keep it. My tank has a black background and I never really notice it any more but I would be lost without it.

It's looking great! I'm not usually a fan of iwagumis but liking them recently. I especially like the natural rock structures and greades of gravel in the foreground etc, it really makes this scape.

Ah right, thanks Aaron! I know it's shocking - that's part of the reason why I really want to start injecting CO2, because I'm so jealous of the amazing growth rates that everyone is getting lately. Good point about the Crypts - I forgot about that. At least with CO2 injection they'll grow back...

I don't really know to be honest - my plan of action is to just dump it in and see what it does! :lol: The E Tenellus will go towards the front, around the wood and stuff. The Sagittaria will go towards the back and fill in any gaps that are still there. I have thought about that in the past...

Re: new scape attempts (now in tank with plants) It's looking great! You've got off to an excellent start. I haven't kept Tenellus before, but if my memory isn't too rusty - it's best to trim it and be aggressive with it to promote good new growth from early on. Hope that helps. :)

I agree with what you're saying, George. Hell, I'm surprised at my own patience with this one! At the moment, I'm loving the Crypts, Anbuias, Ferns etc - just because I like them as a plant. I would like to try something a bit more challenging in the future with different plants, techniques etc...

Wow... I need to get myself one of these CO2 thingymajigs - seriously! The growth on some of these tanks nowadays is amazing!

Aw, I've always loved this tank! Still, it will be good to see the next journal for sure - the choice of aquascaping and fish etc are interesting.

This has grown so much in so little time and it's starting to evolve into something nice. How about a 'brown' variety of Crypt for the focal point? I'm glad you're removing the n-shaped wood because that was alwayas quite distracting for me. ;)

Re: sams 60cm I think you will need something a bit taller for in front of the Rotala. Maybe mingle in some sort of Crypt like Wendtii, or Blyxa or something like that?
