Okay so this has been running for what...nearly two years now?! That's a long time. I literally haven't touched the tank for months now, but all seems well apart from the glass being somewhat algae-ridden but it's nicely grown in and everything. I'm planning to give it a tidy up and re-stock it...

Tonys 'Triassic Hollow' 420L - Now FOR SALE !

Re: Tonsers 420L "Triassic Hollow" @ 1week Wow, that is quality! It's definately one of the best hardscaping I've seen in a while. One thing that I did notice was the substrate level and ow it's slightly uneven at the front. I think any aquascape looks much better when the substrate level is...

I really like this, seem to have missed it. It has a great feel to it, really refreshing - nice one! :)

So this has been going for what? 13 months now. I haven't updated the journal in months so thought it's about time for an update. This tank has suffered a log of neglect over the last few months, what with me trying to juggle a full time job, going to college full time and all the rest of...

Once upon a time at the riverbank - Final update

Re: Once upon a time at the riverbank 125Ltr Great to see you back :) I've missed this aquascape and of course it's looking good as ever.

    Paul's 200L, "Punishment of Luxury"

Wow, this has really matured into something nice. I've got to admit, I didn't really like the hardscape at the beginning but now love the look of this aquascape. It just shows you how letting a tank mature can change everything.

    60cm nature scape v2

This is looking great and has real potential! I think it would come on leaps and bounds if it had more of a foreground and transition between foreground and mid. :)
  8. rawr

    George's 120cm - Nature's Reflection v2

I actually don't mind the Angelfish too much, if anything I think they look a bit too big for the aquascape and it takes away from the scale o things. Your photography definately has it's own style, I could probably chose your photo out of a line up. It should look good once grown in a bit...

    Last of the first.

I like it too, looks very natural. :)

Nice one, how exactly do you make a filter like that? Would be a nice tutorial of some sort.

My first Layout "Two Tribes" updated 29/4

Re: My first Layout I think this has good potential. The main rock is just about big enough, the smallest three might be in danger of getting lost in flora though. You're definately on the right track there, even if you stuck with that it wouldn't be a bad aquascape. :)

    New Beginnings (Aaron's Riparium)

I too like the idea of a riparium, it's nice to see people trying their hand at it. What are your plans for planting? (Jheez, I dunno if it's my screen or dodgy eyesight but that blue photo blinded me!)

  23. rawr

    60cm nature scape v2

I really like this, crypts are my favourite plant by a mile and the jungle feel is always a nice touch. I can't help but think adding some more wood would add a lot to the aquascape though.

I'm astonished at the rate at which the plantlets are growing! I only look at the tank a few times a week, and each time I look the growth is visibly noticable. There's two plantlets - one with three leaves and another with two. I feel like a proud father. I'm really enjoying this tank at...

    Journal 2 . Finaly, 4ft 238l CLOSEING down today 1st May

    Re: Journal 2 . Finaly, 4ft 238l tank updated. 65L iwagumi , new lay-out

Another class aquascape, I really like the feel that your planting achieves. Nice one! :D
  39. rawr

    240L

Like Dan said, this just keeps getting better for me which is suprising because sometimes I find that aquascapes are a bit of a let down once plants etc are added to great hardscape. This has looked amazing from the offset though. Definately my favourite aquascape - keep it coming! :D

Thanks Mark, but the wood isn't staying like that. Sorry I didn't make it clear. I'm going to have it poking through the plants and stuff towards the surface supportin the U-shaped composition. It's an interesting idea though... The Cherry Barbs seem to like it anyway, swimming in and out of...

Re: "Novus Aevum" - 14ltr (Photo Update 21/09/2009) This is really comein along great - I like the fact you aren't rushing the growth and stuff. I think the lighting in the most recent photos sets it off nicely too.

    A triumphant return to scaping

    240L

I would have to agree with Mark on this one. That's not to say there's not other amazing aquascapes on here - this one is by far my favourite though. I thought it looked amazing to begin with, but it seems every time you post a more up to date photo it looks even better than the last time! I...

    Lianko

This is need of some serious attention! (The journal and tank!) I've been so preoccupied lately, and haven't dosed the tank in about a month. Everything seems to be alright though! It might be because of high stocking, there's now seven Ember Tetras, five Cherry Barbs and two Peppered Cories...

My rio 240 planted discus tank

It's looking nice! The discus must love it. Can I ask why you removed the external? I would personally have kept it... Maybe try a pump to get some water movement, that would probably help clarity aswell.

    saintly's "savannah dreaming"

I love it! I find the right peice of wood a little distracting but I can't put my finger on why though. Doesn't look quite right for me. I really like your choice of plants too, this should be great!
  62. rawr

    saintly's "savannah dreaming"

Re: saintly's manzanita scape. (to be named) Haha, that's just an iwagumi with wood instead of the main stone! :P It looks great though.
  63. rawr

    Primary School's tank

I'm sure the kids will like it! Like you said, I would get the Tetra numbers up. I'm not sure if Kribs would be suitable, they tend to be quite aggressive and I'm not sure if the tank is big enough for the other fish to have their space. Maybe try Rams as an alternative when you're sure things...

    Cryptocoryne Riparium

This looks great, and with my favourite plant type too! :D I don't know if I'm missing something here, but I thought Crypts could only be grown emmersed if there was only a small amount of water above the substrate?
  67. rawr

    240L

Wow, that's amazing! I especially like the last photo.

Once upon a time at the riverbank - Final update

Re: Once upon a time at the riverbank 125Ltr Wow, when I saw it I thought you had done a rescape or something! It's made a great difference and I think you should keep it. My tank has a black background and I never really notice it any more but I would be lost without it.
  73. rawr

saintly's"henge the revenge the 3rd and final installment"

It's looking great! I'm not usually a fan of iwagumis but liking them recently. I especially like the natural rock structures and greades of gravel in the foreground etc, it really makes this scape.
  74. rawr

    Lianko

Ah right, thanks Aaron! I know it's shocking - that's part of the reason why I really want to start injecting CO2, because I'm so jealous of the amazing growth rates that everyone is getting lately. Good point about the Crypts - I forgot about that. At least with CO2 injection they'll grow back...
  75. rawr

    Lianko

Thanks Gill ;) I've decided this is going to turn into a sort of 'learning aquascape'. I'm just going to put plants in, see what they do etc and this will ultimately create a jungle style scape which is what I want anyway. I'm also going to add CO2 injection in the near future. There hasn't...

Re: Stus Hardscape for Tropica Aquacube I really like it! It reminds me of Dan's FoF aquascape a little. I would agree with George about the planting, but although HC is predictable, it will still look great I'm sure!
  81. rawr

Re: saintly's MA potentialy low light IWAGUMI Mark, this is a top notch aquascape you've got going on here! I really like the foreground and rock placement etc, and how the plants are around the hardscape - it looks very natural and has a nice feel to it.
  84. rawr

    Lianko

I don't really know to be honest - my plan of action is to just dump it in and see what it does! The E Tenellus will go towards the front, around the wood and stuff. The Sagittaria will go towards the back and fill in any gaps that are still there. I have thought about that in the past...

This has to be the worst photo ever taken, but a photo nonetheless. I'm really liking the Cherry Barbs. They are so tame - always getting excited when I'm by the tank and pecking away at my arm when it's in the tank. The males are really persistent in chasing the females too, it's really...

    125l - 'on the edge'

Re: new scape attempts (now in tank with plants) It's looking great! You've got off to an excellent start. I haven't kept Tenellus before, but if my memory isn't too rusty - it's best to trim it and be aggressive with it to promote good new growth from early on. Hope that helps. :)
