    maybe its just me..

I know the feeling. Ive only been back one week and I have a 5000 word project to do of my choice and one that is a 3000 word essay on Tourism in the Countryside. Plus 5 more over the coming months. AND I have to pay for it, over £2K for this year alone. I must be mad. My 5000 word essay is...

Thats really interesting. Maybe, what we are doing is creating aquascapes to please others more than our own creative edge..... If you look at an IAPLC contest, you will find that the following year, people are trying to copy the high rankers. Is that ego or flattery? We are generally...

    UK wood in aquariums

As a rule, if its a moderately hard wood, then you are fine to use it. Oak is the best as its one of the hardest we have in the UK. Some look great but wouldnt be suitable. Gorse Ulex europaeus looks brilliant, but wouldnt be suitable. Hawthorn, Apple, Cherry, Birch, Alder, Rowan, are some that...

    Yanks, We suck.........

For me, from the first time I set to on an aquascape, it has been about art and nature. The two influence each other and nature, knowingly or not has influenced the great artists of the past. 20. Graeme Edwards

    Advice on hardscape.

You can always snap or cut bits and bend them into place. Don't take the piece of wood as you see it. Work with it, take bits off it add smaller bits to increase it's interest. Maybe just add a few choice (small) bits to jut out into your open area. Just some ideas.
  21. Graeme Edwards

    Advice on hardscape.

The points that strike me with your wood..... Your have created a 'U' shape. Looking at that 'U', it is very smooth and flat in its appearance. The wood is vertical and flat faced as it sweeps around the tank from corner to corner. This gives the result of poor depth. To get over this, you...

From the experience I have had with the grow beam tiles. You would need two for a tank this size. Either that, or one tile and two LED stips.
